The training was focused on people with disabilities to strengthen their mental and psychological wellbeing. Studies have revealed that people with disabilities are more prone to suffering from depression, anxiety, and stress. Further, the COVID-19 pandemic impacted persons with disabilities more than others in society.

Thus, persons with disabilities experience frequent mental distress almost five times as often as people without disabilities. Further, disability is a growing public health problem.

Mental wellbeing is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood. It is on this note that DPO in collaboration with Department of Traditional Medicine Services, MoH, has organized a three day Sorig Zhiney and Leujong Training to 15 persons with disabilities at the Hotel The Pema By Realm.
