Bhutanese Sign Language Course

The Disabled People’s Organization of Bhutan (DPOB) offers comprehensive sign language courses to promote communication and inclusivity for the deaf community. These courses are designed for both deaf individuals and hearing participants, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of sign language and its cultural significance. By equipping people with essential communication skills, DPOB aims to bridge the gap between deaf and hearing communities, enhancing social interaction and reducing stigma. The initiative also advocates for the recognition of sign language as an official language, ensuring that deaf individuals can engage fully in society. Through this program, DPOB promotes awareness, empathy, and social cohesion in Bhutan.
